The 29th IEEE Symposium on Computers and Communication (IEEE ISCC 2024) took place on 26-29 June 2024 in Paris (France). This event annually provides an insight into the unique world stemming from the interaction between the fields of computers and communications. This edition was the place for the meeting of an international technical forum for experts from industry and academia to exchange ideas and present results of ongoing research in most state-of-the-art areas of computers and communications.

The 1st International Workshop on Edge to Cloud Orchestration (ECO2024) - co-located with IEEE ISCC 2024 - focused on the particular aspects of orchestration that deal with fundamental challenges in the Edge-Cloud continuum such as efficient resource and network bandwidth utilization, microservices deployment, data management, adaptive and automated cross-layer configuration, anomaly detection, and security, and also ML approaches for resource-constraint environments, distributed learning and optimization. The workshop brought together industrial and academic stakeholders, developers and research project participants.

On this event, Jonathan Rivalan, Long Ngo, Étienne Leclercq (SMILE) and Anastasios Zafeiropoulos (NTUA) talked about Palindrome.js, a 3D monitoring application that could be used in NEPHELE as metrics or KPIs aggregation tool for various use cases, systems, or architectures. It could be deployed within the Virtual Objects (VOs) in NEPHELE architectures as a single point of monitoring, which could later enable decentralized decisions.
