The research article "Lightweight authenticated key exchange for low-power IoT networks using EDHOC" by Alejandro Arias Jiménez, Jorge Gallego Madrid, Jesús Sánchez Gómez and Rafael Marín Pérez from ODINS with acknowledgement to NEPHELE has been accepted by the Internet of Things Journal.

The article is about enhancing energy efficiency and secure communications in IoT devices, particularly for Smart Agriculture and Smart Cities. It discusses integrating the Ephemeral Diffie–Hellman Over COSE (EDHOC) protocol with Static Context Header Compression (SCHC) to reduce energy consumption by approximately 20% and compress exchange messages by around 54%. This integration extends battery life, minimizes environmental impact, and maintains cost-effective CPU time levels.
